An Antidote to Indifference - Winter 2016

Published this week in the new Antidote to Indifference - Winter 2016 (A Tributary of Caught by the River) a re-print of my review of my old mucker Dexter Petley's seminal memoir 'Love Madness Fishing' which was Caught by the River's Book of the Month for April.  You can buy Antidote in the Caught by the River Online Shop and whilst you're lingering there, if you haven't already done so, buy one of the few remaining 1st Edition's of Dexter's book.

The National Vintage Fishing Tackle Fair - Sunday 14th May 2017

Chipped Coronation Mugs from Mr. Charrington's shop are filled to the brim with Victory Gin and raised in thanks to those good members of the press who gave us the oxygen of publicity, the sterling work of Samuel Guyatt's Tea Van, stallholders staunch and true, punters glorious, and most noble and hard working staff at the Kingsley Sports Centre in Woodrow (District B98, Redditch) all of whom without exception made Sunday's National Vintage Fishing Tackle Fair a most enjoyable and convivial affair. The next one is on Sunday 14th May 2017.  Handbills are available by calling Field Telephone 07980 274 383.  I will also have them in my bag at forthcoming markets, auctions and evenings in the snuggery of The Red Lion Public House.  Thank-you.

The National Vintage Fishing Tackle Fair - This Sunday

Old Bite Alarms squawk and Gazette Bungs bob in thanks to both this week's Anglers Mail who included this Sunday's National Vintage Fishing Tackle Fair in their Caught Online Column (Page 6) and also to The Little Egret Press who gave the Fair a grand mention in their monthly newsletter.  Anglers Mail have supported the Fair for many years and The Little Egret Press are staunch stallholders who will be there on Sunday with selection of their new books for sale.  If you are travelling to Redditch we look forward to welcoming you at the door and in the meantime may the road rise to meet you.  Tea Van from 7am.  Doors at 9am.  All enquiries to the field telephone number 07980 274 383.

The National Vintage Fishing Tackle Fair: Sunday 13th November

Trumpets sound in thanks to Joan Porter editor of Fairs and Markets in Antiques Trade Gazette for her continued support of The National Vintage Fishing Tackle Fair which features today in this week's issue No. 2265 out today and available from all good news vendors.  Standing ovations too for Stan Bangert, the gentleman about whom the piece is written and long standing stallholder at the Fair.
