From the Lost Tackle Shop on Holy Street

For the attention of ladies, gentlemen and all passers-by I am pleased to announce that I have listed for immediate sale in the winter gardens known as my website at nominal prices to those with a custodial spirit a number of items-cum-relics from a lost tackle shop that I had the privilege of clearing recently.  I will also have a number of other items mundane but spectacular from the clearance upon my stall at this Sunday's tackle fair in the town of Romsey.  I gained access to the shop via a grand favour which shall not be forgotten and unlocked the front door that had been sealed for twenty years in the good company of my collaborator the photographer Nick Fallowfield-Cooper.  The photographs he took that morning and the short prayer that I wrote in homage to the shop appear on the cover and within the new issue of Fallon's Angler which is out on Friday 31st March.  I will have copies of the magazine for sale on Sunday.  You may also buy some in their shop. Thank-you.

In the District Known as West Norfolk

It is almost fifteen years since I first met my old mucker the artist John Richardson and he kindly agreed to cut the art for the dust jacket of my book, 'For All Those Left Behind'.  More recently I returned the favour by writing the foreword to his seminal work 'Being An Observation and a Guide to the Many and Varied Types and Characters of the The Jack Russell Terrier'.  You can see John at work in his district known as West Norfolk in this most splendid film made by my good comrade  Nick Fallowfield-Cooper.  Copies of 'The Jack Russell Terrier' may still be available at the telephone number below.

Caught the River at The Horse Hospital

Across a heath blasted by the last of winter trumpets sound for the artists magnificent who gave their all and to the gracious audience who trooped to the Colonnade behind the Hotel Russell in Bloomsbury on Monday evening last and sold out The Horse Hospital for the first of a number of Caught by the River nights.  Those of you who have requested to read the piece I read aloud entitled 'Don't Wait Until the Perch Have Gone - A Brief History of Caught by the River' can obtain it in print in the next issue of Cally Calloman's  The Eastfolk Chronicle which will be available from 1st April at the Halesworth Cut Arts Centre and elsewhere in Easterly-Anglia-Arcadia.  You can see more of Monday through the lens of my old comrade-in- arms Neil R Thomson at Caught by the River where you may also find a link to buy tickets in advance for the night we have there on Monday 20th March:
