Georges Enterprises Ltd, St. Leonards-on-Sea
Once upon a time in Arcadia, and most probably on a bitterly cold Thursday during early February in the 1950's, ladies and gentlemen abroad in the fashionable resort of St. Leonards-on-Sea might feel the need to fish for a winter cod from the beach. Short of bait and not in the mood for digging they would then proceed to Georges Enterprises Ltd which was situated at No. 75 Norman Road. There, they would be able to purchase for a small sum some of 'Georges Famous Canned Baits'.
Should you be a lady or a gentleman abroad in St Leonards-on-Sea today you are advised you should take the first train to London Victoria and proceed across the city to my stall at Spitalfields Antiques Market where on Thursdays only between 8am and 3pm I sell Vintage Fishing Tackle for the Soul and often carry original and unopened canned baits such as those that were the staple of Georges Enterprises. Should you be unable to reach the stall during these hours you are also advised that there is currently a small stock of Canned Baits for sale in the 'Old Friends' section of my website in honour of Georges Enterprises and other backstreet bait sellers of his ilk.

Silt Road Uptown
Tonight all bournes, brooks, flashes and buried rivers in Arcadia lead to the district of London known as W.1 where my good friend and fellow collaborator the writer Charles Rangeley-Wilson will be reading from his forthcoming and highly anticipated book, 'Silt Road (The Story of a Lost River)' as part of a Faber Social Evening presented by Caught by the River at The Social, No. 5 Little Portland Street. Doors are at 7pm sharp.

Spitalfields
Found between rumours at a cold Spitalfields on Thursday a tin of 'Flotit - A Perfect Line Dressing', made in boiling vats at Henry Wilkes & Co. in Studley and dispensed across the kingdom in tins.
