Found in a japanned tackle box during the continuing sort out a gang of hand painted wooden Phantoms, turned in the 1930's and sold by Mr. Hatton. Used for fishing for salmon in the River Wye where fish of 40lbs and above were once caught, hence the startled look upon the faces of the Phantoms. The Wye's great salmon are now lost to time but some intrepid souls such as Mr. Roberts of the parish of Wyke still fish for their descendents who are beginning to return in small number.
